For speed, reliability and data integrity, FileMaker Server must be exclusively dedicated to host SmartPublisher and must not be used for any other purpose including file sharing. The FileMaker Server uses a high level of processor, hard disk and network capacity. Other applications (e.g. web server, disk backup software) or heavy network traffic on the same computer will cause the server to run more slowly, degrade the performance for users and increases the risk of a crash which may result in data corruption.
