Jim Abeles worked in the publishing business for 12 years in sales, management, MIS and web publishing roles. Before Pre1, responsibilities included being the Manager of Prepress Operations for the 40+ Pioneer Press newspaper group; General Manager of the Performance Media custom publishing; Director of Advertising and New Media at the San Francisco Bay Guardian; Director of Classifieds and Web Publishing for Willamette Week.
He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors
for Street Roots,
a non-profit newspaper for and by the homeless. He has a B.A.
in Art from Lewis & Clark College and was an MBA candidate at Northwestern
University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Mark Jockin traded a career as an attorney to head up Pre1’s customer service department in 2000. Mark brings a strong technical understanding combined with project management and
organizational skills. His background as an attorney provides insight into business issues and he's learned to effectively resolve problems of all kinds. As General Manager and part-owner, he applies those same principles in his daily interactions with customers.
He has a B.S. from St. Lawrence University and a J.D. from State University of New York.
RUSS MARTINEAURuss Martineau brings a strong, real world background in publishing and sales management to Pre1Software. He was a co-owner of a $10 million, three-newspaper chain that was Pre1’s initial beta-tester. After selling his stake, he went on to be Director of Advertising & Marketing for a twice-weekly, broadsheet that also used SmartPublisher. His strong publishing management background combined with usage of SmartPublisher makes Russ an excellent person to demonstrate the benefits of SmartPublisher to prospective customers.
Three years as a Classified Sales Rep with an alternative weekly and two years as a user of SmartPublisher were just the right qualifications to land Andrea a position with Pre1’s Customer Service department. She has a knack for helping out and strong organizational skills. Paired with a former customer’s perspective and a technical ability, she is able to effectively guide the software’s users through whatever questions may arise.
Andrea has a B.S. in Journalism from Emerson College.
ANDREW LEACHAndrew Leach joins Pre1’s Customer Service department with outstanding customer service skills and a talent for problem solving. Prior to Pre1, Andrew provided user and network support for a number of organizations including Symantec.
